IT Network Specialist

Summary The IT Network Specialist shall provide IT support, like records management and assist with tracking work unit packages form preparation to delivery of a final product.
Responsibilities Troubleshoot, research, propose solutions, and solve end-user problems for desktop applications used by DIRSUP personnel in the performance of their mission planning and performance, particularly Builder software and TRITON hardware.
Act as lead NMCI technician for end-user problems, including support for hardware, printing, applications, and training in a networked environment with minimum end user interruption.
Prioritize DIRSUP mission impacts and immediate restoration.
Assist users in the areas of password reset, desktop application support, Windows or Linux operating system troubleshooting, and basic print and scanner support.
Assist NAVIOCOM WI in building expansion plans and integration as it relates to IT assets and peripherals and the occupation of space for DIRSUP Aircrew and Surface personnel.
Integrate with DIRSUP personnel for coordination and facilitation with Naval Air Systems (NAVAIR), Naval Information Warfare Systems (NAVWAR), Ticom Geomatics, and Consolidated Analysis Center Incorporated (CACI) as it relates to TRITON MQ-4C UAV network connections and the Whidbey and Global SAL, Whidbey Island Watchfloor (WIWF), DIRSUP, and NMCI.
Provide tier-1 and tier-2 IT support for TRITON network troubleshooting and NMCI support.
Perform basic underlying network connectivity, plug-and-play, or troubleshooting of National Security Agency Network (NSAnet) as it relates to ticket completion.
Identify, troubleshoot, research, support, and resolve customer IT issues, particularly towards impacts on DIRSUP mission accomplishment.
Escalate issues to appropriate technical personnel when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of all support requests.
Aggressively follow-up for expeditious resolution.
Assist in the development/updating of procedures and policies that define acceptable and effective use of the desktop environment, particularly for DoD and DoN policies.
Perform end-user and technical training in supported applications, prioritizing DIRSUP desktop applications.
Be the primary interface for IT related issues and troubleshooting.
Order, track, and maintain NMCI and NSAnet assets, including computers, multi-function devices, VTC equipment, phones, and peripherals, and in coordination with the Contract Technical Representative (CTR).
Apply for and utilize an Information Technology Procurement Request (ITPR) account in Navy Information Technology Approval System (NAV-ITAS) for IT related purchases.
Ensure proper protection and corrective action has been taken when an incident or vulnerability has been discovered.
Assist Special Security Officer (SSO) in physical security as it relates to cabling, including addition/removal, networks, or information assurance.
Read, interpret, and ensure compliance with publications, instructions, notices, local directives, and changes thereto as appropriate.
Support IT asset management activities in accordance with applicable DIRSUP instructions, Intelligence Community (IC) and DoD policies, and ancillary or supplementary guidance.
Perform IT asset management activities to support the processes of inventory, IT receiving, re-use, Move Add Change (MAC) requests, and destruction or disposal.
Support the Command's Cybersecurity program.
Ensure compliance with all Information Assurance Management (IAM) bulletins and advisories.
Perform daily TRITON and NMCI review and record checking within a minimum SECRET enclosed building, until or unless directed otherwise by the COR.
Track impacts to DIRSUP personnel.
Submit bi-weekly reports to the COR in a designated format.
Complete timesheet in company's online system daily.
Complete annual company and customer required trainings.

CompTIA Network
(ISC)2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CNNA) Security Must maintain an active DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I certification Top secret security clearance required Must have the ability to obtain an SCI indoctrination within the first 90 days of employment The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 environment.
Working knowledge of PC/client repair and maintenance (hardware/software).
Possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal English language.
Possess strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to self-start and work independently or as a team.
Ability to travel up to 10% as requested.
